A New Thing: 2022

Happy New Year to all you amazing women (and men) who are healing from betrayal or sex addiction. May you find yourself drawn ever deeper into him this year, so that wherever this journey leads you,  you find healing and growth.

Here are some reflections as we move into a new year.

Beyond Betrayal

by Trudy Metzger

Crushed and lifeless charcoal lies
Where in times past bright fires blazed
Sparks that lighted fun-filled eyes
With blackened coals have been replaced.

If you look, though well disguised
Here seeking refuge in a stone
Love by foolish men disguised
Lies helpes, empty, faded, gone.

Blest will be the one whose wise
And guards the love a fool betrays
For when rekindled love will rise
And burn with a much brighter blaze.

Love will light the saddened face
Stir passion in the heart of stone
Bring to life the barren place
Gather love where hate was sown.

I, God, am in your midst. Whoever knows me can never fall. Not in the heights, nor in the depths, nor in the breadths. For I am love, which the vast expanses of evil can never still.” - Hildegard von Bingen

Wait

by Russel Kelfer

“Lord, I need answers, I need to know why.
Lord, you have promised that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.”

He seemed then to kneel and His eyes met with mine
And He tenderly said, “I could give you a sign.
All you see I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want, But you wouldn’t know me.

So be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though oft’ may My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all... is still...wait.”

"May God in his mercy lead us through these times; but above all, may He lead us to himself." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
